It doesn’t matter that finding the entrance to Rich Rich involves stumbling into a Queen Anne alley that may or may not smell like ripe trash—this swanky sister to La Dive is worth the momentary nostril assault. Once you’re in, you can bask in the fuschia speakeasy glow and sip cocktails that are just as complicated as they are satisfying, like tequila paired with three different tropical fruits and cocchi americano, or a martini with lemon pepper that gives a tingle of spice but goes down smooth. If you’re celebrating something, like the end of the workweek or discovering Chappell Roan for the first time, you may even want to knock back a bong of Champagne. Use Rich Rich for first dates or friend hangs that start mellow and have the potential to turn up, just like the in-house DJs.
