Have used Aussie Broadband over 2 or 3…

Have used Aussie Broadband over 2 or 3 years in Darwin and Perth. No issues. Friendly team. Just getting too pricey, me thinks, that's why I'm looking to change.

But do you know what? Their Aussie, quick response via telephone is worth it's weight in gold. Overseas call centres? No way, let's not ever go there!

They have gotten less price competitive…

They have gotten less price competitive lately but their service dept/resolutions are far more responsive than most of the other major ISPs around. Use them myself & some of my clients.

I’d give zero stars if it was possible

I’d give zero stars if it was possible. I notice there’s another review on here with a similar issue to mine. Continuous drop outs, getting worse and worse. I work from home couple of days a week and have had to log off due to the constant loss of connection, therefore losing wages. They told me to get a loan modem, won’t be charged for it until I’ve had it for the borrow time period. That was a lie, they took the money straight out of my account before it was even received. Drop outs became worse with this ‘new’ modem. In the space of me trying to work yesterday from 7am - 12pm, it had dropped out 7 times! I have to restart my laptop every time it drops out and log back into my programs. My work sees everything that happens and everything is timed. Aussie Broadband are refusing to get NBN out. Every time I call them, each different person goes through the same thing again, do this test, restart the modem, try with a different cable etc etc etc. I’m absolutely fuming at how disgusting they treat their customers!

Amazing customer service!!

I had an amazing experience with a customer service representative on the phone last Friday the 13th (13/12/2024) i believe it was. I spoke to a lovely gentleman named Achilles (awesome name by the way!) who spent about 2 hours patiently trying to help me and my housemates find out why our modem wasn't connecting to the internet. he was so lovely the entire time, never lost patience and never lost hope in helping us. In the end he helped us raise a ticket to get our Opticomm box fixed free of charge and we went our separate ways. He was genuinely the loveliest customer service rep i have spoken to ever across all companies I've spoken to. Achilles definitely deserves a raise!

Internet is dropping after less than 2…

Internet is dropping after less than 2 months

Wont get NBN out because their end is fine but they can see ours is dropping

Told us to borrow someone elses modem to check if thats the issue otherwise WE need to pay $15 postage EACH WAY to get a used loan modem out to test it.

We argued by we need ot be out of pocket if our modem has warranty as they confirmed. 2 hour phone call later we've decided to disconnect after being customers for 8 years and move else where who wont argue over $15 whiel they hold $1.2 billion alone in shares.

Continual issues since day one.

Have had continual issues with the cheap modems they use even one of their techs said they were junk. They blocked my wife on FaceBook when she simply said she thought the service had slowly gone downhill to the point of being hopeless. Now that I'm able to get a free fibre upgrade they want me to keep the same junk modem and pay more than any other provider.

The worst company and service ever

The worst company and service ever. If the devil is real, it is Aussie Broadband. It would take 6 months to run through the issues I've experienced, their lying, gaslighting, lack of accountability, inept staff, bullying, illegal practices etc over the years. Thats without even covering the number of months I've gone without internet, because apparently my lack of internet was in my head! Just don't put yourself through it, choose any other company. It's not worth your sanity to deal with these crooks.

I have just read previous reviews and I was quite shocked. I have had nothing but excellent service. I have always been able to speak to someone that was always was helpful and always fixed the problem within a short time frame. I also experienced follow up phone calls to see if the problem was resolved and if we were happy. I wonder if people who have had issues maybe it is where they live. We live on the Gold Coast and have had nothing but fantastic service.

AUSSIE BROADBAND COWBOYS harres…

AUSSIE BROADBAND COWBOYS harres customers when you get hit with a complaint, they cannot cope with the truth, very unhelpful unprofessional unreliable company. Big to sell the plans, sell their equipment, slow to respond. Calling customers to warn, a formal warning will be sent due to the customer making legitimate complaints about poor security and privacy issues. Don't trust these cowboys in Australia, backward thinking 3rd world system.

Horrific

Horrific - over 2 years calling to find out why i am paying $200 a month and the internet is so slow pedaling a bike to power it would be better. never had a problem before i switched to them, 2 years they refused to send nbn out to look, they finally did after i threatened ombudsmen and constantly blame the router, buy a new one they recommend same issues, no internet and they will not assist as there is an open case, nbn comes says box has been broken ages and also a fault on aussies end, no apology and their fix? buy a new router. such a disgrace i wish i could give negative stars

Downhill service

Been with Aussie Broadband before and can say their service has really gone downhill. Was not able to properly communicate installation scheduling problems from NBN. Called three times this afternoon to ensure my appointment would go ahead and received false confirmations each time.

Their contracts are written so that they are not liable for any mishaps on their end or their business partner. They refused to even cover a few dollars postage back of hardware after they wasted half my day on the installation.

Additionally, their prices are no longer competitive for the speeds they offer.

Had a much better experience with Telstra and iinet and looking to get Starlink instead. Expecting Starlink to two or three times faster than their capped speeds for an extra $20 a month.

Paid extra for same ordinary service

Paid higher charges to get better service. But this is another same type.

Internet connection is very poor. At one moment the speed is 1 mbps and next moment 10mbps. Keeps doing this all the time. My TV buffers.

Last time logged complaint then it went ok for 15 days and back to same old problem. I am changing my services to some other provider.

Incompetent administration

I signed up with AB just before COVID and have had very good service until recently. I moved apartment and transferred my internet service, but unfortunately they continued to also charge my credit card for my old address as well. The stressful encounter began after I notified them about this error and tried to get a refund, it took 4 weeks of continual emails, being gaslit, and offered credit notes and token amounts even though I decided to close the account; I finally complained to the Ombudsman forcing AB to take the complaint seriously and provide a satisfactory outcome, and even then I had to remind them of the issue and correct amounts owed. My advice - be polite, if they don't deal with your complaint and treat you as the problem go straight to the TIO.
