Regrettably a sucker

This company does not stand behind there products the lid came in poorly made and seams mismatched I later found out they don't even make them they hand it off to different people around the country and claim they are not reposible.
Poorly run company my guess its just a guy in his basement running it and
ripping people off. Steer clear

Have not received the cover yet so…

Have not received the cover yet so can't comment yet on quality, disappointing part is time from order to delivery, 15 days so far and counting, shipping estimate 15 days, even after paying an additional $200 for shipping! If I'd known it was going to take this long would have gone elsewhere. Won't buy from again

Hottubcoverspot.com is a SCAM

Hottubcoverspot.com is one of at least 8 dba-aliases owned by Howard Kevin Edwards and his wife Deborah Jean Edwards (alias Debbie Smith) AKA Stonewood Manufacturing LLC (home address of 1353 Whispering Oaks Circle, Mathews, NC 28104 and/or 16057 Tampa Palms Blvd West #406, Tampa, FL 33647-2001). Both very beautiful homes. I cancelled a $634.96 spa cover from SpaCoverSpot.com (an alias) 3 weeks ago and they won't reply to my emails or phone message. I have to keep trying. The money was a gift from family and we're on a fixed income. Consider them a scam.

I wish I had read these reviews before…

I wish I had read these reviews before I ordered my cover. We live a few miles away from their factory, so I said we'd pick it up. They charge a $75 "pickup fee." What a crock of BS! I asked why—they don't even have to box it up, just have the guy bring it to the door. They reason that it takes the guy away from his other work. Can you believe it?

We've purchased numerous covers from…

We've purchased numerous covers from this website over the last 5 years for our vacation rentals. I see many reviews accusing them of calling later for additional shipping charges. This has only happened a couple times for us and it's due to the remote shipping location and it was less than I expected. Once was due to increased freight shipping during covid. Some companies just raise their cost of the product for everyone; this company only charges more when necessary and I completely understand that. Also, it's on the site. We've ordered at least 17 covers and will continue to order from them.

I do NOT recommend this company

I do NOT recommend this company. I should have known to go elsewhere when they never answer their phone. I placed an order for a hot tub cover, then was told that costs for shipping have gone up and my new total cost would be 50% more. My refund was a problem to receive and they insulted me by telling me what my bank should tell me and how to find my bank's phone number on my card. I hope many will see this review and not do any business with this company, apparently owned by Stonewood Manufacturing LLC.

Inconsiderate company

This company does not care about the dissatisfied customer. You can call and call and never talk with anyone. No one answers. Website claims free shipping but it's really close to a 100.00 extra dollars and then once it leaves their warehouse its out of their hands. They do not care. As far as quality it's just so so. Definitely nothing special.

Bait and Switch

Dishonest business practice. Tried to collect 18% more in shipping charges even thought they sold the cover to me quoting free shipping. They said that they reserve the right amend shipping charges. However, this seems to be basic practice from reading other reviews. When I asked where they came up with that 18% they would not explain and emailed me give them the additional money or they would not ship my cover. I even offered to help share some of the charges. Either they are doing this on purpose or they need to fire their shipping manager.

Stonewood Manufacturing sent me a hot…

Stonewood Manufacturing sent me a hot tub cover with a large hole in it. Told me to take it up with the freight company that they hired. Freight company would not respond. Obviously occured in manufacturing anyway. STONEWOOD pretty much told me to get lost. Stuck me with a 500.00 hot tub cover that I can not use. This company is corrupt. Wish I had read all the reviews about this company as they have ripped off a lot of people.

same old bait and switch

same old bait and switch. Quoted one price and then emailed me that it would cost another $120 for shipping. Appears they do it all the time. And if you can't trust that, what about the extras for the cover you paid for: double vapor wrap, extra heavy insulation, extra thick cover, etc. etc.

Maybe had bad reviews in the past. But I had an amazing experience with this company! They were they the cheapest, most responsive, and quickest company I could find. And the quality is top knotch!

Yes you will be charged for freight shipping AFTER you place the order. Mine was $100 and still was 200 bucks cheaper than what I could find locally in Denver!

Start to end 2 weeks!

Highly recommend!

Very similar experience to other…

Very similar experience to other reviews. Price quoted was about $60 less than other sites, so I ordered one. When the final charges were listed, it said Cover: $349 Shipping $0.00. Total: $349 So, I purchased and card was immediately charged the $349. I waited about a month. When I did not receive it, I contacted 'Debbie Smith' for an update. After 2 emails, she did get back. She told me that shipping manager said it would cost an additional $199 to ship to where I live. ( I live in Salt Lake City). She noted that their website does not say: "Free shipping". True, but misleading. since my invoice showed $0 cost for shipping.
I requested a refund, which I did get right away. I will order from different company that I have used before. As I said, their price was $60 more, but they do FREE SHIPPING, making their final cost $140 less.
This seems to be the pattern for this business, so beware!

Regarding delivery of my hot tub cover:

Regarding delivery of my hot tub cover:
I just went outside (I have been home all day – it is raining here in Michigan)
Laying flat on driveway is the carton with my hot tub cover.
No advance delivery notification.
No attempt to ring my door bell or knock.
No opportunity to sign a delivery receipt or inspect the contents.
It was just lying there in my driveway soaked from the rain.
I brought the carton into my dry garage.
The bottom of the carton was busted open.
The top flap of the carton was opened and the staples broken loose.
The plastic bag that was supposed to protect the cover was off and to the side
The bag of tie down hardware was open and missing most parts.
This delivery company is terrible.
BUT I am not at all satisfied with the delivery.
I am asking for a refund of the extra $50.00 I was asked to pay for the “free” expedited delivery.
I am asking for $15.00 refund for the hardware that I had to buy.

Company misleads and is disingenuous

My biggest complaints:
1. Disingenuous advertising on website suggests one price but seemingly most or all end up costing significantly more. I knew that going in, from looking at reviews, so I wasn’t taken aback all that much. But it’s slimy and dishonest to hide an additional whopping $120 shipping fee. Just raise your damn prices and stop hiding things. And no, putting small print below the footer of your page doesn't constitute clear communication.

2. It took more than a month from ordering to receiving the product. If that’s “Quickest Build and Ship Times!” then I’m the Queen of England. More lies from this company. “Expedited Production ONLY 10-12 Days” …my butt. Shape expectations better.

3. It was also impossible to schedule with their freight company. They’ll come when they come. They’ll give you one day notice.

4. The cover arrived undamaged, but the build quality is only so-so. Whatever they used to line the foam under the exterior is all bunched up in several places. It doesn’t lie flat. Water will pool in these areas. Lame.

All in all, a poor experience. Alas, even with the extra shipping, it’s not a bad deal. Maybe even the cheapest out there still? So… Stonewood Manufacturing / HotTubCoverSpot.com – if you’re listening: tell the truth. Stop misleading people. Your pricing is fine even with the shipping charges. You’ll avoid poor reviews like this one if you stop exaggerating.

I'd give you 1-star, but so far (an hour in) the product is working as expected. So have another star.

Buy from someone else.

BEWARE THE FINE PRINT...AND BEWARE THEIR INTERPRETATION OF THOSE TERMS...AND BEWARE THAT THEY WONT STAND BEHIND THEIR COMMITMENTS. The week after I placed an order which was accepted by them and charged against my credit card, the President of the firm sent me an email indicating that the price was going to go up by almost 25%. I gave him every opportunity to honor our Purchase Order agreement but he insisted that I pay an extra $80 for "Free Shipping". They ultimately cancelled the order wasting half my day taking measurements, and placing the order. Their business practice is to lure you in and then try to squeeze more out of you.

One of their terms says that their could be an extra charge for homes that are "inaccessible for a tractor-trailer". It does not state that there are additional costs for "remote areas". It does suggest that some remote areas may be inaccesible. Our home and our town is far from being inaccesible for a tractor trailer. Over 3 million visitors and thousands of tractor trailers visit our town every year. Apparently to them, inaccessible means any town that is not convenient for them to ship to.

Rest assured that they will try to respond and say that their terms say that they may charge extra for remote areas. That is not what it says. It says that some remote areas could be examples of inaccessible areas. Read the text for yourself.

6.Most residential addresses are accessible, but locations "which are not accessible by tractor-trailer" may be subject to additional charges. Examples include lanes or alleys too narrow, islands or locations requiring ferry boat transportation, gated communities restricting trucks, remote locations and unpaved roads.

After ordering I waited for about 3…

After ordering I waited for about 3 months to receive it. When the delivery company delivered it to me, I inspected right in front of the delivery person and saw a big ripped. I was told to keep it and file a complaint with the seller and they will send a replacement and pick up the ripped one. I contacted the seller, Kevin Edwards said that they don’t do that. They would have to take the ripped one back and send me a replacement but he had no idea how long it would take. I already threw my old one away and didn’t want to wait for another 3 months for a replacement. Kevin also told me that I can file a complaint with the delivery company. I told him the box wasn’t ripped so it wasn’t the delivery company fault. I also asked Kevin if he could give me discount for this ripped one and he said no. Things go nowhere so now I’m stuck with the ripped one. I strongly do not recommend this company. I read bad reviews from other buyers and didn’t listen. Don’t make the same mistake like I did. Avoid this company.

Don’t do business with SpaCoverSpot.Com…

Don’t do business with SpaCoverSpot.Com also known as Stonewood Manufacturing!! Horrible horrible horrible scam company. They like to pull the ole bait and switch. Billed me $400 for my hot tub cover in early June 2021. I hadn’t heard anything from them nor received the product for 2 months so I emailed them in mid August 2021. They responded and told me that they tried to get a hold of me because they need to charge me $135 more for shipping due to the pandemic shipping prices increasing. And Debbie Smith, their customer service agent, reminds me that this is mentioned in their small print; terms and conditions. Their website is currently still boasting free shipping in bold print on hot tub covers. Which is an outright lie/scam!!! Lie lie lie. But the pandemic increased shipping prices have been going on for months? Why not update your website then? Heck, they’re even advertising a sale right now so I know the website can be updated. They could not prove they ever sent me an email about this increased shipping fee from the last 8 weeks so they let me sit in limbo for 2 months while they kept my money. Were they ever going to try and reach out to me again or refund my $400 if I hadn’t emailed them? Probably not. Take your well earned money elsewhere. This place doesn’t even care enough to make it right. Shame on you Stonewood Manufacturing.
