Well worth getting .

Ruralwifi - Terrible Broadband, Terrible company

Successfully cancelled my rural wifi broadband today. Had to finish the contract term however with two months to go it wasn't worth fighting with them. Not once did this service work properly, its totally useless. There customer support function via phone/ web chat and email is just pathetic and in my opinion Comreg should just shut them down. what boiled my blood is that you have to post back the router to terminate in full, its like paying for the funeral adding insult to injury. I would like to point out that I have never wrote a review in my life or even felt the need to do so however in this case I hope it helps others not to make the same mistake.

I'm with Rural Wifi 12 months now and I…

I'm with Rural Wifi 12 months now and I am very happy happy with their service. I had problems with my WiFi after purchasing 2 extenders. Sean from technical support help talk me through the difficulties on the phone, after that didn't work Sean called to the house and set up the WiFi, computer, printer and extenders. His expertise and patience was second to none and Sean made sure all was set up and running before leaving. He spent the time and was brilliant at explaining everything, I would definitely recommend Rural WiFi and their technical team ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

NOW I HAVE TOP QUALITY INTERNET

I read the negative reviews about rural wifi, but I still went ahead, there was no other choice in my area, I put up a external aerial on the roof with the rural wifi router and got download speeds of between 20 and 35 for us this is 40 times faster than what we had. Thanks again rural wifi

we were imagine customers for over 10…

we were imagine customers for over 10 years till they decided to UPGRADE their services and gave us 30 days to find another provider, luckily we found rural wifi, the service can up and down but it's better and cheaper than most of the places we have tried. it is unlimited downloads not like some pretend ones with caps hidden in the contract.
we have fibre broadband 200 metres from our house but they have no plans in the next 10 years of bringing it up the road.
rural wifi is not perfect but what is in ireland, they listen to complaints, you can talk to a real person thats in ireland not many companies like that left. going to install an antenna and a booster been thinking about it a long time and gonna give it a shot

Awful

Awful. Contention/congestion/whatever it is, the service is simply unuseable at any time of the day when anyone else may be awake. Constantly rebooting the router to drag some data out of it
Download 0.30Mbps
Upload 2.78Mps
Delay 1668 ms
In fairness, the guys on customer service are friendly and helpful but can't do anything to improve the situation (other than let me transfer you to sales....)

Just bad

Just bad. Given the current situation I was required to work from home. If your an early started the you maybe able to get on a teams call from 7-8am but after that it drops so bad that you'd be lucky to get 0.5mbs download. To point out something though, I've a 3 ireland phone which I can hotspot off of and holds strong all day but Rural WIFI you'd be lucky to get 1/2 hrs of streaming or work done with it in a day. If you can, look else where.

Rural Wifi - A Disastor. Very poor customer service.

I signed up to Rural Wifi 2 weeks ago to find out only at payment stage that the service was being subcontracted to a 3rd party Big Blu. I specifically told them that I wanted the broadband for work purposes and they said my best option was Satellite Broadband. However when it was installed it was not compatible with VPN connections and would never had worked for me. I have spent 2 weeks trying to get the matter resolved. I originally paid €100 for installation and €45 monthly service. The lady in Rural Wifi said 2 weeks ago she would request a full refund but that it was no longer anything to do with Rural Wifi and was in the hands of Bigblu. Eventually today 2 weeks later Bigblu have said they will only give me a refund if I return the equipment. This would require me to hire someone to go up and take down the satellite dish and then pay for courier to return the equipment. I would reckon this would be quite expensive. All in all I would not recommend Rural Wifi as they seem to subcontract their work and then wipe their hands of the situation.

Rural WiFi have to be the worst…

Rural WiFi have to be the worst broadband provider in Ireland. You can't download anything unless you are prepared to wait hours on end, can't use more than 1 device connected to the Internet at one time, trying to play any video game online may as well be a joke. Absolutely crap service and when phoned up couldn't even tell what mbs they are sending out. Full on broadband scam.

Rural WiFi.. 🙄

Awful.. you’ll spend more time steaming than streaming.. no way to access the router channels.. 1 & 2 seem to be good but like the rest of people who are having a hard time with it we are on channels 3 and up.. I guess some people’s money is better than others 🤷‍♂️.. I’m on 1.1megs at the moment.. should be called rural dialup.. just don’t dial us. Ide send them an email but snail mail be quicker.. overall it’s desperate..

Shocking Internet and even worst customer service

I have been trying to get through to them on the phone for the past five days. I have left four messages and have been on hold for an hour in total. Someone phoned me back finally after I had to get angry on their answering machine. Only to disconnect me after I explain the problem. The problem being I have no Internet and have had no Internet for a week. When I do have it I have to reset the router at least three times a day to keep the little Internet I have going. Do yourself a favour and find another Internet provider.

Terrible service

Terrible service. Good for the first week then nothing. Even tried there satellite options it’s even worse. Also no support on the phone and there not very good at giving refunds even though you can cancel within 14days which they advertise. If I could give -102 stars I Would. Run for the hills and stay away from them not worth the hassle.

Run for the hills

Run for the hills - Do not and I mean Do NOT go with this internet provider. I wish there was a -100 star for this company.

My timeline

1. Internet installed -good for one month
2. Internet connection dropped in the second month - roll on calls to customer service etc. Not one person called back.
3. Now I have to use my mobile phone connection for broadband.
4. What I featured out - internet is about fair off peak, I can open my emails just about - on peak, forget it - you just won't get online.

I am hoping to get out of my contract

Take my advice - look elsewhere for your broadband ( I laugh as I type the word broadband as its actually really like dial up!)

Would really have given zero stars

Would really have given zero stars. Booked and paid in full for installation giving two weeks notice. Still waiting for installation after a further five weeks from paying. Staff either try to fob you off, mislead you or play dumb and simply say they don't know. Awful experience and that's before trying it. Stay well clear. Will try others, for example Irish Satellite Broadband.

If there was an option to give 0 stars…

If there was an option to give 0 stars that’s what I would be giving.
Horrendous service, I was lied to on the phone when asked was I through to “imagine” broadband. Promised a hotel voucher for inconvenience which I still haven't received nearly a week later , basically spent nearly 3 weeks waiting for WiFi which I had to cancel as nothing was happening. Very poor and really not good enough, would definitely NOT recommend.

I would award -5 stars but that isn't…

I would award -5 stars but that isn't one of the options. Two months of the worst internet I have ever experienced and their 'technical' department has ignored my emails. I have 6 weeks of screenshots showing what a poor service I have received. I paid for a company to come out and fit a three-meter extension to my antenna and we have pointed it to all the local phone masts.

Signed up for a two-year contract and they think they can hold me to that, but they're wrong. Consumer law in Ireland states that if an item, or service, isn't up to the standard that it was sold to you the supplier has effectively broken that contract. I have told them to stuff it and if they want their equipment back they will have to refund me the initial cost. You can get more information here and remember, the law is on your side in the case of bad service.
