Lost power and heating at Xmas day.

Lost power and heating on Xmas day.
There was a delay in getting an appointment time but the electrician came 3 days later. On his first visit he got some sockets fixed and fitted a temporary solution to provide heating and hot water. On his second visit he quickly traced the electrical fault and fixed it so the electrical system and heating and hot water were operating properly. The engineer was extremely competent and thorough and did a great job.

Excellent service from British Gas

It was easy via the website to book a repair. The engineer contacted me early with an eta and arrived on time. Smartly turned out and groomed he showed his professionalism by quickly diagnosing the problem and repairing. He has good communication skills and clearly explained what he had done and gave me a thorough safety briefing. Excellent service, thank you.

Brit Gas Radiator repair

Brit Gas engineer came to fix our not working radiator.
It didn't take him very long to fix problem.
He clearly explained what was wrong and how he fix it.
Was very polite and friendly making it a very nice repair experience.
Would highly recommend British Gas services very much.

My heating went off on new year's eve…

My heating went off on new year's eve and I didn't think there was the slightest chance of getting an engineer out that day under my maintenance plan. To my surprise an engineer was in attendance by mid afternoon. He sorted the problem out in no time ,and proceeded to establish what had caused the problem in the first place. This was also sorted. I am 85 next and can't thank British Gas enough for their brilliant service. Thank you British Gas.

Boiler breakdown

Contacted BG on evening of 29/12/24 after I returned home from visiting family for christmas and heating was not working. Engineer came Monday 30th, checked boiler and ordered part required. He arranged to return on 2/1/25 to complete the job (1st January being a bank holiday). Came 8.30am and got boiler working. Very professional, no mess and checked everything.

Happy with service contract

Happy with service contract. Just had annual service - engineer called ahead to let us know his arrival time. Boiler tested and checked - advised a couple of minor issues, one a flue bracket and earth an reading. Tidy and polite and got on with the job without and disruption.

5 star service

The technician who came to do the survey, Liam, was great, super helpful both at the time and also afterwards, ensuring that everything went through smoothly. The installer, Tomas, was also brilliant. Inevitably there were a few hitches on the day but he sorted them all out and made sure that the heating and hot water were all working fine before he left. Very happy customer.

Who are you gonna call? (On New Year’s Day)

I had a problem on my Central Heating on New Year’s Day which resulted in no heating.
British Gas sent an engineer the next day and fixed the problem. Very grateful as I am at home recovering from surgery and the outside temperature is 4’c.
Most of the cost was covered by my Service plan

Thorough quotation: positive experience.

Salesperson was friendly, thorough and efficient, he listened to my needs and built the quote around them. He checked which boiler would suit me best and how the team might access the install. He checked that all the things needed for a smooth install were compliant. He also explained the finance options. A very good experience overall.

Great service

Several sockets had failed and I didn’t know why. BGas organised engineer for next day..he called when he was an hour away. Michael was brilliant, found and fixed fault quickly and was knowledgable professional and friendly. Great service!

Intermittent fault

Fast response to call out
Excellent engineer
Diagnostic skills very good
Found underlying fault that could have been catastrophic awaiting quote for new boiler either today or tomorrow, hopefully good quote as vulnerable persons live in household

Heating/hot water restored

Returned from holiday found boiler not working/leaking left message with BG engineers at midnight they attended next day at 14.30 and fixed it, heating and hot water restored !
They are not cheap but they have never let me down.

Staff always friendly

Staff always friendly. I had helpful information about how radiator thermostat works. Simple radiator repair done which was great. However, engineer turned my temperature control dial up from 3 to 5 which caused the pressure to rise very high causing me alarm: when I put it back to 3 the pressure dropped. Not knowing why this happened is unnerving.

British gas is a joke!

Joke! I've had two letters asking me to book my service for my boiler. I've contacted them on their chat asking to book an appointment and the earliest they could offer me is July!! What's the point in sending letters out now if they can only offer appointments seven months later!

British Gas is very reputed

British Gas is very reputed, reliable company. Their prices are slightly higher than small companies. However the prices are on par with similar top boiler companies. My experience with them has always been very good.

Thank you BG …

BG are expensive but the engineer called ahead of time, was polite and fixed the problem really quickly. Our combi boiler went down on New Year’s Eve and we had no heating or hot water - fixed before 10am on Nee Years Day!! Amazing service!

Excellent service.

Booked an engineer last evening to repair my tumble dryer, got an appointment for this morning. By mid-day my machine was back up and running. I have used this Company for years, I can not recommend them enough.

I was given a quote to have my new gas…

I was given a quote to have my new gas boiler fixed on another wall in my kitchen, which meant knocking a new hole through from the kitchen to the outside and bricking up the existing hole. However, the boiler has remained in the same place, therefore no major outside brick work was necessary.
I do, however, feel I was given a quote, which I accepted at the time, for more major work to take place and therefore a reduction in the final payment should be made.

Cheque keeps going to dead man's address

This cowboy organisation keep sending a refund cheque to my dead Uncle's address despite providing everything to their 'bereavement' team. Customer unhelpful team lie through their back teeth and are incompetent beyond belief. Still waiting for cheque from November. Wake up British Gas and pull your finger out!

UPDATE - the reply from British Gas below highlights their incompetence, the cheque is going to the wrong address, the name is not the primary issue. Live chat is utterly pointless as your advisors pass the buck, lie or talk a complete load of twaddle. I don't have a Facebook or Twitter account, so what is the email address of your CEO or someone in your senior management team? What about a direct telephone number whereby two people can engage in a sensible conversation like we used to do?

Our British gas annual service …

Our annual service was carried out very professionaly and everything the engineer did was explained to us. All the radiators were checked and the gas and electricity supply's to the house. We have had our service contract with British Gas for many years and we would recommend a service contract for anyone with a heating system less than four years old.
