Account restricted after trial ends, scammy tactics

TL;DR: Scammy service, don't recommend

When you run out of your premium trial, your account will be "restricted" (won't work) if you had more than 25 passwords. Even worse, they disable copy-paste (if you have this issue, use INSPECT ELEMENT in your browser to manually copy it).

Of course then they will ask you to buy the premium version. 50 EURO a year. Yeah, no thanks!

No tech support for premium. Over priced.

I have been a Dashlane user for years, but leaving now disgusted. Reported an issue and asked for help. All I got was an acknowledgment four days ago. Crickets. Meanwhile I am locked out of DL, even online because of an “unknown error try again”. DL’s limits on the Apple IOS and OS version support is irritating as well, especially for a premium priced product. With DL you do NOT get what you paid for.

Extremely Disappointing Support Experience

I am writing this review to express my deep frustration and disappointment with the level of support I have received from Dashlane. As a loyal paid member for over seven years, I have always relied on your service without any issues. However, my recent experience has left me questioning your commitment to your customers.

As an IT professional, I manage a significant number of passwords, making a reliable password manager essential for me. Several months ago, I began receiving pop-ups prompting me to change my master password. Understanding the importance of this, I carefully followed the instructions and recorded the new password.

To my dismay, I was unable to access my account just three hours later. Concerned and anxious about being locked out, I turned to your support. The initial interaction was a chatbot, which offered no solutions despite numerous attempts. After more than ten frustrating attempts, I was finally connected with a live agent.

This agent, while polite, could not resolve the issue and escalated it to a higher level, creating a support ticket (#2396222). Two weeks later, I received an email asking the same questions I had already provided to the chat support. Now, over three weeks later, the issue remains unresolved and still pending.

This lack of urgency and inadequate support is absolutely unacceptable. Your support system is failing to meet the basic expectations of your paying customers. Support is the cornerstone of any successful service, especially in a competitive market like password management. Unfortunately, it seems Dashlane does not prioritize timely and effective assistance, focusing instead on profit over customer satisfaction.

This is deeply concerning. How can a company that handles such sensitive information operate with such insufficient resources for customer support?

My advice to potential customers: avoid Dashlane if you value responsive and reliable support.

I hope this email serves as a wake-up call. It is critical that you reevaluate your support processes to ensure no other long-time customer experiences the same dissatisfaction.

Dashlane added a big safety improvement

I've used Dashlane for about 2 years and think it's great. Prior to Dashlane, I used Roboform and LastPass. Dashlane is superior to both for my needs. Recently, Dashlane added an important feature, a PIN login that is easier to enter than the full master password and only works on the one computer where it is entered plus it automatically logs out after around 30 minutes. Before this, Dashlane would stay active for up to 14 days on the computer, which was dangerous in case somebody else (an intruder) accessed the system.

Thank you Dashlane for the big safety improvement.

One final note, I have always had problems using Dashlane on my Android phone, I only use it on Windows computers.

Love the Dashlane App

Love the Dashlane app. All my passwords held securely in one place and accessible from multiple devices. New, very strong passwords are generated by the app for other logins added. It’s also offers a lot more with VPN, Dark Web monitoring, and password health checking included in the premium version. If you’re still writing passwords down or using the same, insecure password across multiple logins, then you need Dashlane in your life. Try it for free first and see for yourself.

An underrated password manager

A great password manager with a solid track record, and which balances ease of use and functionality. It's used by all my family members to some extent and allowed them to have unique passwords for their accounts. There is a learning curve for less tech-savvy people but once the logins are created, signing in becomes easy.

I am very happy with the product

I am very happy with the product, but a recent software update made my extension fail. I started with the Chatbot, but it really couldn't deal with it. I guess no one told it that this software update would be producing a lot of clients. So I ended up with a real person who explained what had happened and talked me through how to delete the extension and then re-add it. Everything is fine now, but there was a problem when DASHLANE would not present the login screen.

Can't praise high enough.

I have been assisted by very competent, knowledgable staff members when I have approached Dashlane for advice and help. They have a calming demeanor and assist willingly.
Step by step, written directions and NO pressure.
I'm very happy with my experiences from purchase to a recent self-caused issue.

Simply the Best !

A really useful and very well thought out application, useful to me on a daily basis.
It is practical and really secure.
I always have a very good experience since using it.
I lost my 2FA identifier not so long ago and the assistance was very fast, professional, courteous and was able to help me and adapt in every way !
In short, nothing to say and that's why I'm going to take a subscription with them once again.

How to support

I had a problem with 2 step authentication - the codes didn't came via SMS - i had to contact support. They told me I have to give photo of my ID to identify - I didn't want to do that, so support came with another idea of authorisation specially for my request. After that everything worked. Minus 1 star for the not working SMS factor - if it would work I wouldnt had to contact support in the 1st place, but bcs support was on point with everything else - the overall score is 4/5

Sweet app you have to have.

Hello to all, I've been using dashlane for years I think it's one of the best apps out there I can't live without it easy to use secure It's just a mind blowing good app 🤘 I have it on all my devices never failed me yet 😉

Great app

Great app! It works really well, and the security is top-notch. I also love the support. Although it can sometimes be a bit tricky to find the live chat option, don’t worry—it’s there! Even when reaching out via email, the response is quick. They’ve replaced my Hotspot Shield account multiple times at no extra cost, which is amazing. Gotta love Dashlane for that!

Unable to connect to my Dashlane account

I was unable to connect to my Dashlane account and was assisted by a DL Support member named Serg who patiently walked me through each step in gaining access to my account. I'm pretty much of a tech ignoramus and found Serg's assistance very helpful. This has reassured me of the value of having a Dashlane account.

Dashlane makes it easy to store and access logins

Dashlane makes it easy to store and recall passwords, credit card info, secure notes, etc. Occasionally it will come across a non-cooperative website, but it then allows you to cut and paste the info previously saved. Support, when needed, was effective and solved the problem.

Great customer support and follow up

I’ve used DashLane for many years and had only one recent issue—I could not login on my iPhone. I reported my issue, was informed that there was a ticket opened. Peter contacted me via email several days later. He had reviewed my file and saw I had been able to log in. He wanted to ensure I was no longer having a problem. He was courteous and professional. I’m happy with the support I received.

Losing the family account setting

I had to contact support to get my account back on the family plan. This is the second time I had to do it, I don't know why Dashlane doesn't keep that setting. Once support determined what I was trying to accomplish, they quickly got it sorted. Hoping this time the settings stick.
