Unprofessional and underhand
My Volvo car broke down. Volvo assistance arranged the hire car through Enterprise, Hamilton branch. The car was a mess when I picked it up - broken section in interior boot and missing EV cables, damage to rear bumper, various scratches, and sunglasses holder missing from inside roof. This was all noted but weeks later they took £250 from my credit card without any communication and on enquiry said it was for damage, but didn’t say what. The branch manager acknowledged it was an error and emailed confirming they would refund, but they didn’t. Weeks later I raised a dispute through NatWest and had the £250 returned but Enterprise are now contesting it with a note of the damage I’m allegedly responsible for (the first time I’ve been given any details of why the charge was applied), and it’s the damage I mention above, which was already there. Not surprisingly they’ve included photocopies of the contract where I’ve signed it, but they haven’t included the sheets indicating existing damage to the car. Shockingly dishonest. I’m replying to NatWest to uphold the dispute.
