Goldman Sachs (Apple Card) Review – Poor Customer Support & Unhelpful Service
I reached out to Goldman Sachs, the bank backing the Apple Card, to request a review of my credit limit decrease, expecting a fair and reasonable discussion. Instead, I was met with dismissive and unhelpful customer service from both a representative and a supervisor.
I spoke with Hector, a customer service specialist, who repeatedly told me to dispute my credit limit decrease with the credit agency, even though that wasn’t what I was requesting. I pointed out that my TransUnion credit report showed an increase in my credit score, but rather than actually reviewing my request, he ignored my concerns and continued suggesting something irrelevant.
When I asked for a supervisor, I was transferred to Monica, expecting a more thoughtful review. Instead, she gave the exact same unhelpful response without actually addressing my questions. Then, while I was in the middle of responding, she abruptly ended the chat, cutting off the conversation entirely.
To make matters worse, instead of trying to resolve the issue, I was baited into trying to close my account, as if that was the only solution they were willing to offer. At no point did they make any real effort to keep me as a customer or provide any actual assistance.
This was an extremely frustrating and impersonal experience. Goldman Sachs, as the financial institution behind the Apple Card, failed to provide customer support that is fair, reasonable, or even willing to listen. If you’re looking for a credit card issuer that values its customers, I would not recommend them.
I applied for their premium card after seeing all their flashy ads about instant approval and huge credit limits. It sounded like a good deal at first. I was instantly approved and given a credit line of over $300000. But that was where the problems started.
I tried to make a purchase later that day and the transaction was declined. I thought maybe it was an issue with the store but when I logged into my account it showed the card was locked with no reason. No email no text no explanation. I spent hours trying to reach their customer service and when I finally got through they told me the account was under review. No timeline for when it would be resolved.
A few days later they asked me to verify my identity which I did immediately. Weeks later and still nothing. I have sent countless emails and made calls but nobody can give me a straight answer. They are holding my $300000 limit hostage and I have no access to anything.
What makes it worse is their customer service is rude and dismissive. They talk to you like you are the problem when all you are doing is asking for what is rightfully yours. If not for the help I got from the company in my profile pic I would probably still be stuck dealing with these scammers.
If you are thinking of doing business with them I strongly suggest you think again. This is not a company you can trust.
I applied for an apple card and it was approved instantly. i was excited only for me to try using it and it wasn't working so i chatted support and was told to pay some activation fee which i did and didn't get any response from the guy again. It was rose lane gp that played a crucial role in tracking and getting my funds

I am filing this complaint against…
I am filing this complaint against Marcus by Goldman Sachs (GS), who issued me a GM Card in 2023. I have had a GM for 27 years with no late payment history and had a credit score of 845 until GS posted that I had been delinquent over 30 days. I have reached out to GS 5 times to resolve this issue and submitted a complaint to the BBB. The complaint to the BBB was closed to the customers dissatisfaction, since GS stated that I opted into electronic billing, which is not true. I did find out that when GS asked you to make an online account they automatically enroll you in electronic billing. I found this out from a GS customer service representative (CSR).
I have multiple credit cards which I rotate through several years. I was unaware of this bill until I received a late notification in the mail. I called GS the same day and paid the balance of 7.40, as per the CSR, I also was informed that there would be no late notification sent to the credit bureaus. The next month I received a bill for 0.12, and I paid this the same day as well. One month later is when the late notice went in and my credit took a hit.
I have reached out to GS multiple times to resolve this, with no positive resolution. Please all consumers be warned the GS doesn't care. Here are some facts that a Google search will provide:
1. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau in Oct/24 filed an order against GS.
2. Consumer Affairs rate the GM card managed by GS as a 1.1 out of 5.
3. Trust Pilot rate GS as a 1.4 out of 5.
4. Multiple articles through Reddit, myfico forums, and Cadillac forums reflecting:
A. Financial mismanagement.
B. Horrible customer service.
C. Potential fraudulent practices.
Realize that GS has done such a bad job that they are selling the GM card business to Barclays which should be settled soon.
To summarize, I did not sign up for electronic billing, therefore how can I be late to make a payment? However, when I was notified of the bill I promptly paid in full. This was such an easy win situation for GS. I believe they simply don't care since they are divesting themselves of this business, while leaving a wake of disgruntled consumers in their wake.

Goldman Sachs in Cahoots with Scammers
Goldman Sachs has aided and abetted criminal activity in the state of New York. GoTickets is a fraudulent ticket reseller, marking tickets up 100% in violation of New York state law which prohibits a markup of more than 10%. GoTickets will trick customers into going to fraudulent virtual storefronts which they then dismantle making it impossible to find them, again, and prove what they're doing. They will then purchase the tickets on your behalf for half of what they advertised the price to be, making their fraud obvious, but by then it's too late. They're impossible to get ahold of, and won't give you your money back. Because this violated state law, I also reported it to the AG. The AG responded, acknowledging the fraud, expressing their hope that Goldman Sachs would take care of it. They did not. Today, I was alerted that Goldman Sachs went along with the crooks, so I reported this to the AG as well, and also to Goldman Sachs who reopened the investigation, but is now being so brazen as to tangle with the AG. We'll see how that turns out. In the meantime, be very careful how you use your Goldman Sachs Apple Card. Apparently, we no longer have backup, despite Regulation E, and other safeguards our government has tried to put into place because from what I can tell, Goldman Sachs willingly supports merchants who break the law. I encourage other victims to keep fighting through AG and other channels. If we don't take a stand against corruption, there will be no hope for the future.

Improper and false advertising
Improper and false advertising. Applied for Apple Card and was instantly approved. After a few hours tried to make the first purchase. Card was locked with no notice or alerts. After 4 phone calls and multiple chat people the new card is “under review” and they don’t know how long it would take to resolve. Verified my identity and everything. Terrible bank and customer service!

Pick Any Other Card
Good LORD, they are inept at customer service at EVERY LEVEL. Neither agent nor supervisor knows their left from their right hand, many don't even speak or comprehend English and, to be honest, the piddly cash back is not worth the headache that one gets from dealing with this card and this bank whatsoever.

I paid my balance on my GM CARD in full 8 days before it was due and Goldman Sachs has a hold on the payment. The money was removed from my bank account the next day. I talked with customer service and they couldn’t tell me why. Goldman Sachs is not customer friendly. GM get away from these morons.

You got a staff by the name of Ganesh Prabu +1 (469) 386-6324 who tries to cheat a transport company in Singapore while having a vacation in Singapore on the 28th Dec 2024.
He book a transport company for a ride from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur and was safely delivered to his destination, after almost 3 weeks later he wanted a full claim refund from his credit card after paying us. This is unfair and unjust to be treated by a goldman sachs staff. He is abusive towards the driver throughout the journey. Please look onto this matter and had this staff of yours sacked!

Apple - get away from Goldman Sachs
Not sure the Apple Card is worth dealing with Goldman Sachs.
I had a moving company charge my card (with my permission) a deposit of $2700. i decided within the 72 hour timeframe (after having my phone blown up for 24 hours unnecessarily from the same company) to cancel the transaction. I read my contract and sent the email copying the sales person to let them know I wanted to cancel. After trying to get confirmation from the company and not receiving it - I decided to dispute the transaction.
This was on October 2nd. Today is December 29th. I had been communicating via text message - but I got an email telling me the company said that I didn't cancel in time.
I responded to the email and also texted GS and tried to upload all of my documentation. Finally got that done.
It has been TWO MONTHS. I have no idea if Northern Relocators (the company of liars) has responded to my documentation - and nobody at GS can tell me. They just say - it will continue for 2 billing cycles or 90 days.
I guess it shouldn't surprise anyone that a company that bonuses their C-Suite on the backs of the American people after being part of destroying the housing market - is merchant focused.
Apple - you need to get away from these people and look elsewhere for a company to manage your credit cards. I will quit using this except when I need to purchase an Apple product simply for the discount and the interest-free loan.

I recently got married and my last name changed. My marriage license is not accessible as it is in a lock box at another FI. I DO have a brand new drivers license with my hyphenated new name and they refused to accept it! RIDICULOUS ! I have worked in banking over 40 years and someone in a position of authority should be able to make this decision! It’s my Apple Card, so needless to say I have a bad taste in my mouth for them as well.

The customer is always wrong
When making a payment through the app (Well in advance of the due date), the app processed the payment late, causing me an interest charge. When I called I was told that this was not their responsibility. I tried very hard to talk to someone that could actually help me but I was not able to do that. It appears that the structure of the company is such that the customer service representatives are prevented from helping the customer. I was told over and over that the failure of their app was my fault not theirs. I had the same problem the next month but still they would not believe me. I always make my payments on time and have never paid interest charges. Obviously this company is only out for their profits and uses any opportunity to take money from the customer. Very frustrating to deal with this company.

This bank is a literal SCAM
TLDR: My experience with Marcus savings has truly been the epitome of shady, incompetent online banking. I'm not someone to write bad reviews, but this has been such a frustrating and ridiculous situation, and I want to warn everyone, please, DO NOT trust this bank. It's one thing if an account is closed and customer service isn't able to provide an explanation behind this, but shouldn't getting the funds back be made an absolute priority? I'm not sure why this bank has deliberately made this become such a complicated and stressful process, where even after 4 YEARS they still have refused to give my money back.
I had an account opened with Marcus back in 2020, which suddenly got closed a few months later. When I tried calling customer service, they refused to give me any explanation behind the account's closure. After several attempts to call them regarding getting the money back into my original bank account, I still never received my funds. In July, I had a family emergency that required me to travel for a few weeks - prior to leaving, I desperately tried to call back to see if my money could be sent back to me before I left. They said that a check would be mailed to me within 14 business days and to my surprise, there was no check in the mail once I got back. Again, I tried to call them regarding this, and they stated that their so-called 'review team' would be reopening my account within 30 business days instead. I called again today (which is when I should have received an update regarding the reopening of my account) and yet again, still there is no update regarding if or when I'll be able to get my money back. Endless attempts to speak with both customer service and specialists have been failures, as they are entirely clueless about any updates from the 'review team', and now I haven't been given any timeframe as to when I'll be receiving an update at all. It's rather repulsing to see that a bank with such a good reputation and reviews, being "rated #1 in customer service" can be this negligent and incapable of addressing basic matters.
