BUYER BEWARE.
Why didn't I take notice of the poor reviews? Delayed transfer of broadband service in December, they have yet to refund advance charges. Latest bill shows two mysterious charges for
'broadband assurances' and 'telephone assurances'. And yes, the speeds vary widely throughout the day.

My router was playing up so rang the technical department and spoke with Paul. How was very helpful in guiding through the tech and getting me re connected to the Internet , very patient and clear with his instructions . Great service.

Although I have great difficulty hearing what is being said on my mobile phone I managed to tell the person what was wrong and why I needed a quick solving of the problem due to being partly disabled and using an emergency button & Alexa for help. I was delighted with the prompt action and an Open Reach Engineer was with me the following day. I do appreciate the prompt action taken by your representative.

I had an issue where my price was put…

I had an issue where my price was put up and I didn't notice it, Jeff changed my package to one where I have double my speed and I'm paying £2 less than I was before and was very clear about pricing after the contract ends which helped me understand it better.

Sneaky add-ons, shifting stories

I signed up ensuring I unticked all the added on extras, they call them 'assurances'. I was charged more than expected the first month so I asked what was going on and they said:

'Please be advised that this £23.11 covers the days from 27th of January ( Live date ) to 28 February. £19.90 is "monthly" package the bill your received covers more than 1 month that's why it's more than £19.90 , it covers days from 27 Jan to 28 Feb.'

The next month is was even more at £24.48, I asked what is going on this time:

'Hi Reece, We found that there were assurances in place. While these assurances are not obligatory, they can offer valuable benefits in the future.'

They go on to reference 'LANDLINE ASSURANCE' and 'ROUTER ASSURANCE' which I unticked and tried my hardest to not be upsold. This clearly is a different story to the last.

I will update this as it resolves. I will be avoiding POP Telecom and I suggest you do the same, very sneaky.

l read a few reviews and decided to give them a call..
Kelvin reassured me l had chosen well so l went ahead..It didn't take long to give my details. So l hope all goes smoothly setting up..

100% avoid and do not use this company

100% avoid and do not use this company, service is unstable, throttling at random times of the day.

I had thought about upgrading to fibre with pop but the thought of extending my contract fills me with the ick.

I am extremely frustrated with the poor…

I am extremely frustrated with the poor service from Pop Telecom. Despite paying for Superfast Broadband with an average speed of 67Mbps, I consistently experience speeds as low as 4.9Mbps and even 820kbps (see attached screenshots). This issue has been ongoing for far too long, and despite multiple escalations, nothing has been resolved. The service is unreliable, and I would not recommend this network to anyone.
