Il RACE CHIP è una solenne truffa, perlomeno sulla mia Volvo C70. II 2.4D5 non solo non migliora le prestazioni ma le peggiora!!! Non si come facciano ma l’unico FALSO miglioramento è sul Trip Computer che ti dice che hai consumato molto meno, purtroppo quando vai a fare il pieno e fai due conti con i Km percorsi ti accorgi che invece hai consumato un pó di più!!! Inoltre il motore è meno pronto nelle accelerazioni e risponde in ritardo. Quando poi scrivi all’assistenza queste osservazioni ti dicono di fare un sacco di test che ovviamente richiedono tempo, ma quando rispondi che tutti i test risultano negativi, ti rispondono che ormai sono passati più dei 30 giorni concessi e loro non se lo riprendono più indietro!!! (Riporto sotto le relative e-mail).

It seems that it has been longer than 30 days that you received your RaceChip, and therefore we can't accept a return at this point.

A. In which driving situation and in which speed range exactly does the malfunction occur?
1.) immediately after starting the engine, at idle
2.) at constant speed
3.) when accelerating

B. Is there an issue on all mappings 1-7 (including 0 / tuning deactivated) of your RaceChip in the same driving situation?

As soon as we have this information, we can immediately assess what the cause of the problem is and then fix it.

This is a follow-up to your previous request #2157503 "RaceChip Customer Support"
Hello Patric, after many test the result is absolutely negative.
The motor signalision were due to high oil level for FAP cleaning that happen only when the race chip is installed.
Moreover the motor power and fuel consuption are worst than without race chip, I’ m attaching pictures that confirm FALSE low consumption at car trip computer but REAL high consumption at fuel refill:
Without race chip 12,83 Km/liter

With Race chip installed 12,25 km/liter

I don’t like to say that is a fraud but I would like to give the RS RACE CHIP back to you and get back my money.

Brought the XLR5 Great Product, Really improves performance, Slight Issue as I didn't include the Display, But Racechip assisted me after I emailed them,

The 3 stages really does improve your drive,

The little controller adds additional benefits to XLR, including wet mode, anti theft mode which is awesome, as well as valet mode, so please with Racechip

Fitted a Racechip to my BMW 520 mainly for extra torque when towing our caravan and it has made a positive difference.
Once set up properly the towing experience has given me enough to not be changing between 5 & 6 on ecery hill. I've made a little saving in fuel also which is great as I thought the car would use more..
The other difference which I love is the energy behind the engine
It's made a lovely 5 series fun and responsive to drive

It starts with great customer service, and these people have provided that. My requests and questions have been answered quickly and in great detail. Once I install their RS product in my Jaguar F-Pace, I will follow up with a review.

Had two iterations of Racechip for two BMWs. Both worked well and I was very satisfied. Power increase can clearly be felt. Fuel savings were visible - specially on 530i. Currently have F30/530dXd and waiting for my third iteration of Racechip. If price is about 400 Euros and savings are at about 15% of per-installation consumption, you have money back at about fifteen thousand kilometers (if I am correct doing my math), which is my half year driving.

Product delivered quickly from Germany to UK. Easy as to install if you follow the instructions. Bought the base version @£149 GBP. Noticed the difference in smoothness and extra Torque right away on the Factory `3` setting. Will likely try the two higher settings after a few hundred more miles. Delighted Customer.

Ordered a RaceChip, easy to install but it made my car go directly into limp mode. I made a report and they tried to fix it with an update, that didn't work. After that first report I made two more reports and every time they came with an update but my car still went into limp mode. The power of the chip gets reduced every time they try to update it, which defeats the purpose of the product. I have tried to make clear that I still don't have a working product but their customer service is completely ignoring my report. Don't buy from them because they sell products that don't work properly and they treat you like you don't matter.

Got the GTS for my 2020 MINI JCW. Installation was breeze easy, clear instruction with more than enough cable ties included. May want to include velcro tape next time, RaceChip.

Tried all stages, got mine with the apps control, all suits my driving style depending whenever I need it.

I look forward in getting the XLR for quick throttle response next :)

Writing a review for people like me who were wondering...will it really work?
I ordered their basic chip for my 2010 Mondeo 1.8tdci probably the ideal type of car for a map to notice a difference, but my god do I feel a difference it takes off far lower down the rev range and goes alot quicker and further in the gears especially 3/4/5.
No dyno etc to tell you anything exact but definitely noticeable difference so much so you know it's not placebo effect it's very fun to drive now.

EDIT: The company got back to me and provided new install pictures that cleared up the issue for me.

Wiring harness I received doesn't fit my car (Swift Sport K14D, hybrid). The connection for the MAP sensor doesn't fit my vehicle, and the installation document is not well made, it doesn't clearly show the sensor locations. I emailed Racechip and got no reply. Did I waste 300 euro??

After installing racechip s on volvo xc 90 5d, i had it on setting 2 like driving a sports car, saving 15 per cent on diesel, iv gone to original back to factory setting 3
My god what a difference powers there practically rolling everywhere
And be saving over 15per cent on diesel fuel
If you have a diesel with that flat spot on acceleration
Go and get original racechip S
They really do work

I bought a RaceChip GTS for my 2017 Mini JCW. I didn't actually need the extra HP as the car was already quite fast. However, I have always enjoyed playing with engines and installing the chip and testing it was fun. I did some road tests (no dyno) and I don't feel big differences until map 4 (as expected). Starting at map 5 I hear a different rumble from the engine and quicker response, especially at low to mid RPM. With map 7 the car simply flies when you press the pedal, but retains all its comfort even when driving at low revs. I have yet to estimate mpg, but the horsepower/torque increase feels real. I've had a few mail exchanges with support, which have been great.

Hi folks, I posted an average review for this product recently. However CS contacted me to offer support. My concern was the power increase was barely noticeable. Since then, well today actually, I drove my 2012XC90 for the first time since contacting CS. I’m not sure what, if anything they have done, but I now have a much more powerful car. I was quite shocked actually.

I was very sceptical about this product but I have fitted the basic RaceChip 'S' (delivered from Germany) to my 2015 KIA Proceed GT...and yes! They work. It's not been dyno tested but blimey the improvement in performance is very noticeable. Turbo kicks in earlier, more power/torque (claimed +33HP/77NM) and fuel consumption is slightly better but I'm only a week or so in using it. Easy to fit and no warning lights or issues. I'm on setting 4/5 which is manually done on the 'S' version so I might go up to 5 once my ECU has adapted. These only alter turbo boost pressure and injection and timing within safe limits so the factory ECU stays standard but just adapts to what signals the RaceChip intercepts and adjusts. Tailored for your car and the instructions/connectors are spot on. �

I really hope anyone who reads this is able to take a good decision.
The product is a scam, does not produce any extra power at all, manipulates very simple parameters which do not impact performance in a meaningful way. Their claim of 40% is a total joke.
I spent a day and a tank of gas trying to sort the performance out, 4 updates, 20 emails and after the car going into limp mode 10 times, I threw in the towel.
Stay clear from these gimmicks, 400 Euro paper weight. Disgusting that they can actually sell stuff like this.

Tbh I'm not sure what the bad reviews are about! Customer service is great, they may not reply straight away but just be patient. overall very good! I had a slight issue which was resolved very quickly. I have a vehicle which is 320hp standard and with the chip fitted it claims up to 370ish.. it's a noticeable difference on acceleration! Plus on a long journey recently of 5 hours I got 39mpg with the chip on setting 7 instead of 33mpg before I fitted chip so hey ho! I'm happy it works. Thanks racechip �

I bought a GTS for my R350 Mercedes.

My observations thus far, immediately and upto day 2 on setting 6.
1. Less throttle travel to gain speed.
2. Noticeably more toque. Car weights about 3 tonnes
3. Drives like a Multitronic, gearshift are almost not noticeable.
4 Vehicle will cruise at nearly 40mph at just over 1000 rev and pull nicely on acceleration.
5. Brisk acceleration, and burst of energy from around 2.5 rev.
6. Turbo lag utmost 100% eliminated.
7. Rev freer, almost like a petrol engine.
8. Idle speed, when just starting vehicle, able to propel it forward to 11km/h. INCREDIBLE, for a circa 3 tonne vehicle!


Jumping from my ML500 into R no longer very noticeable.

Diving on mapping 7 now, feels like a petrol engine, massive rush from 2.5k revs, she flies!! Car blips the engine when downshifting, slowing to standstill. Amazing!!!

I recently bought a Fiat 500 Twinair Turbo, but coming from a Fiat Seicento I was missing the go-kart feel. I didn't feel as connected to the road anymore in the 500. After some research I found this was due to throttle lag; A delay in power you feel when pressing the gas. I've bought the Racechip RS in the hope to get more responsiveness back and at my surprise it honestly feels as kart-like as a Seicento again. Just with WAY more power! It's a very subtle change and I didn't expect to turn a Fiat into a Ferrari, but my 500 finally feels 'complete' again. Definitely worth the upgrade for responsiveness alone. :)

Was very skeptical at thr beginning but hey It certainly worked on my BMW 220i, did couple of timings and there is straight away a noticeable difference. 0-100 easy 1 sec faster but the real power kicks in on higher speeds.
Sadly i had to send my unit back due to country restriction and lack of documentation for the unit.
Costumer service very friendly and 30 days free return policy.
4 stars because of lack of paperwork.

I bought the GTS for my 2016 BMW 330D. I haven't put it on the dyno to see if I get the claimed +54hp or +95Nms but, especially in 'Race' mode, it is noticeably faster. I found the chip easy to fit although I would have liked dedicated instructions for my car rather than a generic diesel. I found a good You Tube video and would recommend others doing the same. One thing I would like to see is a device to easily move between Eco, Sport and Race which could be mounted in the cockpit. I can't open the app when driving so a button-module would be cool.
