User Friendly, variety of media, great customer service

TalentLMS is our training platform. It allows us to pull in employee data via file feed easily, deliver training efficiently, and provide training data for metrics. We use it for HR, EHS and operations training in a manufacturing setting.

TalentLMS is a great platform to house training and track it for large organizations. The training content itself is not very suitable for manufacturing.

I initiated our company's online learning platform for our staff and have used TalentLMS as our learning platform. I use the reports to monitor learner progress and motivate learners to complete assigned courses. The reports are also great for sharing what's been happening on our online learning platform with C-Suite executives.

Cons
  • Simplifying the setting up of conversations in a course.
TalentLMS is great as a learning platform for hosting courses. However, there's room for improvement as far as course creation is concerned. Although the new AI feature is definitely a step in the right direction, I still prefer using Articulate 360 for designing interactive courses. I guess my question would be whether TalentLMS is primarily a learning platform or a course creation tool.

  • Increased compliance with legally required HR courses.
  • Decreased time spent on onboarding! It is so much easier to refer new staff to already existing courses.
  • A big plus for us is that staff can do the courses anywhere, anytime.
The support I received was prompt, professional, and helpful. The staff was super friendly, which was a nice surprise!

TalentLMS is used across our entire organization. We use the program to administer and track compliance training, job specific training, and employee development training. We use online courses as well as webinar and instructor-led courses.
  • The user interface for our employees is simple and clean. Even our least computer-savvy can complete their course requirements.
  • The interface for our human resource managers and supervisors allows them to track and monitor employee performance.
Cons
  • We have courses that are required for each employee based on their job title, and then, many courses we consider to be elective for that job title. We have not found a method to distinguish between those in order to view an employee's performance on required courses only.
  • Reports are only available by user ID or user name. We have some facilities or managers who need the user ID (based on payroll entry) and some that need names (employees they interact with each day).
TalentLMS is very well suited for employee training whether it is a small company or a large company. Courses can be created based on any type of media. This allows us to create courses specific to our industry and even our product.

  • Over 95% of our employees have taken courses using our TalentLMS program, leading to increased knowledge for our employee base.
  • Over 70% of our employees have taken elective courses (beyond those required of their position) further adding to their knowledge skill set.
The features of each LMS program were similar. Each had their own bells and whistles. Some came with pre-authored content, which we did not require. Our needs are very specific to our industry, and we intended to create much of our own content. In addition, the pricing structure of TalentLMS was exceptional.
When issues arise, I first consult their online library of instructions and suggestions for every aspect of the program. If I cannot find answers, I write to the help desk who responds very quickly. They always have the information I need, or they help seek ways to work through each issue.

We have one individual committed as a large portion of their job to design course work, analyze successes, and promote employee training. Other individuals monitor completion and track progress as a small part of their job.
