  • The interface is easy to navigate and user-friendly.
  • Very robust functions in scheduling and building out a detailed project plan.
  • Handy features to tag individuals in important tickets and assign work.
Cons
  • We use this tool for our Agile development, this could be fleshed out more.
  • Adding functionality to prioritize work in Sprints can be enhanced
  • Managing the comments on tickets can get a little overwhelming at times.
Workfront is an excellent tool to build out projects. Working with marketing and design it is well suited. Having the ability to live proof and mark comments in real time is great. For functioning in an Agile workflow/development work, the tool can be enhanced. It all depends on the needs of your business if this tool will be a success, and adopted.

Great tool for digitizing business processes in an agile world!

  • Centralizing input of work requests
  • Management of the workflow processes
  • Approval flows
Cons
  • Better API Integration
  • More ways to integrate existing systems and processes
There are a lot of scenarios where Workfront works well. Any process that requires teams to collaborate and manage as a group is potentially an option to leverage the platform.

Workfront goes both ways: Agile, Waterfall, or a combination of the two

We use Workfront in our marketing team, which has about a dozen members, spread across three countries. Each of us can create and manage projects, and we build departmental teams within marketing for each project. We sometimes include people from other departments in our Workfront projects.
  • It's pretty quick to implement across a department. We rolled it out quite smoothly.
  • We're just beginning to use Agile for our website development projects. I can create a project and show it to non-Agile team members in a standard view, but I can also view the same project as an Agile burndown chart. Very nice.
Cons
  • I feel that their Agile capabilities are a work in progress. You can definitely use it in an Agile environment, but some features aren't very intuitive, and could use more refinement.
  • The online help could use work. Searching help often leads to frustration.
It's excellent for a team that has dozens of projects going, with various team members involved on individual projects. It's easy to look at your own work for the week, with tasks from any number of different projects.

If you have a team that is purely Agile, there may be other tools that are a better option. I do feel that they're making progress with their Agile features, though.

Currently being used to track project progress and the creation of dashboards/reports. The IT/Technology area is the main end user for this tool. The intention is for the whole organization globally to eventually adopt. This tool will help us standardize our approach to project management and help keep things unified, located in one space and easy for PM's to report upwards to senior management
  • Basic Task reporting works very well and is quite easy to set up. Same for dashboards
  • Risks and Issues are easier to manage from within this tool
  • The ability to leave updates on Tasks/Projects/Issues and Risks is extremely useful
Cons
  • Ability to create an all in one weekly status report would be great. Currently have to print individual reports
  • Gannt charts are seriously broken when you try to print them. Might work, but only after a long time spent fiddling with the settings. Not easy to use and very frustrating.
While it is claimed the tool works well with JIRA, the connector we got wasn't very good - as such using this tool for Agile projects is not really recommended . Our agile teams spent ages trying to set up and still did not get the desired effect after many attempts.

We use AtTask company wide for project management, resource management, and time tracking. It has allowed our company to consolidate our project communication and management into one system. As a company AtTask has been great to work with, they listen to their customers and have a strong admin and user community. Both my sales and customer service reps are very accessible and knowledgeable. Support is very quick to respond if issues arise and are polite and helpful even when an issue turns out to be operator error.
  • Clean easy to use interface
  • Very customizable
  • Great support and user community
  • Robust and flexible reporting options
  • Constant service and feature updates keeps it running smooth
Cons
  • The agile management features aren't expansive enough yet but I'm told they are working on it.
  • Would be great if they had the ability to add checklists to tasks easily.
It is a more costly system than some other options but if you have the need for a tool that can handle project management, time tracking, resource management, portfolio management and detailed reporting then this might be the tool for you. Tracking that kind of data means you have to have the resources to enter the data, it takes more of a time investment in the setup of projects but I think you will find the information you get out of the system through the duration of the project makes it well worth it.
