Overall Satisfaction with TalentLMS

Our company recently implemented Talent LMS to facilitate internal onboarding and provide future offerings for our customers. Their "talentcraft" solution is easy to use, and the results are not too shabby. There is also an AI content generator for both content and visuals. They are in the process of changing their UI to a more modern version, which in some aspects goes for form over function but generally does freshen up the overall look of the system. We also got the talent library (the included courses). While they are relatively simple (not going too deep into their topics), they are still really good for the price and create a baseline for further reading. I've worked with several LMS solutions, and this is by far the best. There might be better out there, but for ten times the price, at least. So overall, I would say TalentLMS has a tremendous unbeatable price/performance ratio, offers many options and functionalities, and has dramatically improved our internal knowledge dissemination. While it is not perfect, what solution is?

Pros

  • Content creation tool for training lessons.
  • Managing and organizing users
  • Provides comprehensive library of pre-made courses.
  • Very easy to use, out of the box.

Cons

  • The new UI is sometimes a downgrade in functionality.
  • The pre-made training is surface level and does not go deep into details (i.e., "micro-learning").
  • Their analytics are very basic, and on the new UI, they lack insights into user-level quiz results, which is inexcusable.
  • Increased learning engagement due to gamification.
  • Smoother onboarding with less instructor engagement.
  • Quicker and more comprehensive onboarding.
  • Company-wide engagement with learning and content creation.
Quick answer, comprehensive, and customized. I sent an email with multiple questions and feedback about their new UI, and the agent addressed all of them directly and honestly no sugar-coating and no call center lingo. Most questions can also be addressed directly in their UI with a really good help center widget.
We had no problems at all with the implementation. That being said, we did not have too much to properly implement content-wise since we had no prior LMS. After we activated, we mostly started creating or porting content manually. The overall account setup is straightforward and out of the box, making the implementation very quick. SSO works flawlessly as well.
I must admit it's been a few years since I last tested Moodle and Docebo, so my current opinion might be biased. That being said, on a pure price-to-performance ratio, TalentLMS blows both out of the water.

Yes

Did TalentLMS live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of TalentLMS go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy TalentLMS again?

Yes

TalentLMS is excellent for quick microlearning since it offers a comprehensive library of courses on various topics. For own classes, their editor is straightforward to use and efficient + it provides a good mix of interactive elements, like the option to use screenshots with interactive annotations. It is not the best solution if you want highly granular data on how your users are doing (on the "new UI"). However, from what I've been told, they are looking into that. Their out-of-the-box courses are not intended to be stand-alone learning material, so don't expect that.
