Uber Reserve Airport Pickups are Reserve trips specifically for airport pick ups. You may receive these requests directly from the airport virtual queue while waiting, with trip and fare information provided upfront. Reservation requests may also appear in the Opportunities section of the Uber Driver App.
Like a regular Reserve trip, Reserve Airport pickups allow driver-partners to accept trips up to 7 days in advance. With built-in flight tracking technology, you will receive real-time updates on Reserve Airport Pickup trips if the rider’s flight is delayed.
Reserve riders pay you a premium for Uber Reserve trips as they need a reliable experience. Additional Reservation fee and extra wait time are built into the Reserve fare. The Uber Driver app will notify you when it is time to go online and head to the pick up location for any Reserve trips you have accepted. We recommend checking the app for instructions and notifications prior to taking the trip.

With built-in flight tracking technology, driver-partners will receive real-time updates on Reserve Airport Pickups if the rider’s flight is delayed.
Only available in selected airports: Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane, Perth, Gold Coast.
- How do I take Reserve Airport trips?
Down Small You will be able to see Reservation requests through: the Opportunities section of the Uber Driver app, or while you are in the airport virtual waiting queue (requests will show in your queue banner or through an on-demand offer card)
When you tap on the Reservation request, you will be able to see details of the trip, including how much you will be paid for the trip. The word “Reservation’ on the offer card indicates that it is a Reserve request. The offer card will display details including the upfront fare and the rough pickup and drop off location.
- What are the types of Reserved Airport pickups?
Down Small Most products, such as Uber Green, Comfort, UberXL, Uber Max, Assist, and more are available on Uber Reserve Airport Pickups, with the exception of:
- Uber Pool
- UberX (Unavailable at Melbourne airport only)
- Am I eligible to do these trips?
Down Small Reserve airport pickups are only available to driver-partners who are eligible to complete Uber Reserve pickups and airport trips. To receive Uber Reserve requests, please read and agree to our Uber Reserve Policy in your Uber Driver app.
Only driver-partners eligible for Uber Premier will be eligible to take Premier Airport pickups.
- What do I need to do before the trip?
Down Small Like regular Reserve trips, in order to keep trips that you have previously accepted you may be required to go online at least 40 minutes prior to the pickup (depending on the trip type) and wait for the rider before becoming eligible for a cancellation fee. The Uber Driver app will notify you when it is time to head to the pick up destination. We recommend checking the Uber Driver app for instructions and notifications prior to taking the trip.
- What happens when I arrive at the airport?
Down Small You will be navigated to wait at the airport waiting area when the rider’s flight lands. Reserve airport pickups may include up to 60 minutes of wait time starting from the time the flight arrives to allow riders enough time to exit the airport after their flight lands. Riders will notify you when they are ready to be picked up, then you can navigate from the waiting area to the pick up location at the Airport. Always check the Uber Driver app for more information.
- Will I be paid for wait time?
Down Small The minimum fare for Reserve airport trips is higher than standard Reserve trips because it includes wait time. The fare includes between 35-60 minutes of wait time from when the flight lands depending on the trip type, after this time, driver-partners may cancel the trip and receive the fixed cancellation.
Effective 6 May 2024, the new cancellation fee will be as follow:

Down Small We understand that your plans sometimes change. If you can’t complete the Reserve airport trip after accepting it, please cancel at least an hour before the pickup. If you are not online, or cancel less than an hour in advance on more than 2 occasions within a 14 day period, you will not be eligible to continue receiving Reserve requests.
- What happens if a rider cancels the Reserved airport trip or doesn’t show up?
Down Small If a rider cancels less than 60 minutes before a Reserve airport trip that you have accepted, you will receive a fixed cancellation fee. Refer to ‘Will I be paid for wait time?’ FAQ above for cancellation fee.
