ZEISS Axiocam 203 mono
Your 3 Megapixel Stand-Alone Microscope Camera for Fluorescence Documentation
ZEISS Axiocam 203 mono is your 3-megapixel monochrome camera especially designed for routine fluorescence microscopy tasks. With its built-in CMOS sensor, the camera can operate independently without a PC, allowing you to easily acquire monochrome images.
Choose Between Three Modes of Operation
Stand-alone mode: you don’t need a PC to acquire microscope images. The camera automatically adjusts brightness and white balance and offers live image enhancement functions like sharpening, denoising and HDR.
Or, connect Axiocam 203 mono with ZEISS Labscope imaging software via USB, network and Wi-Fi connection for enhanced functionality and ease of use.
Additionally, you can connect the camera to ZEN software for image acquisition and further analysis or processing.
ZEISS Axiocam 203 mono is recommended for:
- Applications with bright fluorescence samples
- Documentation
- Education / Teaching
- Fluorescence imaging applications with live and fixed cells
- Documentation of fluorescent cell cultures
- Routine tasks in cell laboratories

FAQ
-
ZEISS Axiocam 203 mono and Axiocam 212 color are supported from ZEISS Labscope 4.4 You can download the software via the portal or the app stores for free.
-
You can do measurements in the live image in stand-alone mode via the OSD. No additional hardware or software is required.
-
The automated functions such as white balance are available via USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi and HDMI.
-
ZEISS Axiocam 203 mono and Axiocam 212 color get their power via an external power supply.
-
Yes, TWAIN plugin is available.
-
Yes, you can control the cameras via ZEISS Labscope or ZEN and simultaneously show the image on HDMI monitor. But, you cannot control by OSD while the camera is controlled by ZEN or Labscope.
-
Axiocam 203 mono and 212 color are not Wi-Fi cameras - but you can buy a ZEISS Wi-Fi adapter separately (5 GHz / 2.4 GHz) to connect to network.
-
The sensor diagonal for full sensor is 9.3 mm, for lower resolution 8.2 mm. A C-mount adapter of 0.5x is recommended for the adaptation to the microscope. With a 0.5x adapter a large field with an image diagonal of approximately 18.6 mm would be captured for full sensor acquisition, for lower resolution an image diagonal of approximately 16.4 mm would be captured. If necessary, the use of shading correction function is available to keep the image free from vignetting.
