License Agreement for the Use of Yandex.Keyboard program for Mobile Devices

Before using the program, please read the terms of the following license agreement.

Any use of the program by You means Your full and unconditional acceptance of the terms of this license agreement.

If You do not accept the terms of the license agreement in full, You are not entitled to use the program for any purpose.

1. General Provisions

1.1. This License Agreement ("License") sets forth the terms of use of the Yandex.Keyboard program for mobile devices (the "Program") and is concluded between any person using the Program (the "User") and YANDEX LLC, Russia, 119021, Moscow, Lev Tolstoy str., 16, which is the owner of the exclusive right to the Program ("Rightholder").

1.2. By copying the Program, installing it on your mobile device or using the Program in any way, the User expresses his full and unconditional acceptance of all terms of the License.

1.3. The use of the Program is permitted only under the terms of this License. If the User does not accept the terms of the License in full, the User has no right to use the Program for any purpose. The use of the Program in violation (non-fulfillment) of any of the terms of the License is prohibited.

1.4. The use of the Program by the User under the terms of this License for personal non-commercial purposes is free of charge. The use of the Program on terms and in ways not provided for by this License is possible only on the basis of a separate agreement with the Rightholder.

1.5. By using the Program, the User agrees that the following documents are integral parts of this License, the terms of which fully apply to the use of the Program:

These documents (including any of their parts) can be changed by the Rightholder unilaterally without any special notification, the new version of the documents comes into force from the moment of their publication, unless otherwise provided by the amended versions of the documents.

1.6. This License and all relations associated with the use of the Program shall be subject to the law of the Russian Federation, and any claims or actions arising out of or in connection with this License or the use of the Program shall be submitted to and reviewed by courts at the Rightholder’s location.

1.7. The Rightholder can provide the User with a translation of this License from Russian into other languages. However, in case of conflict between the License in Russian and its translation, only the Russian version of the License shall be legally binding.

2. Rights to the Program

2.1. Exclusive rights to the Program belong to the Rightholder.

3. License

3.1. The Rightholder grants to the User a non-transferable right to use the Program free of charge, on the terms of a simple (non-exclusive) license, on the territory of countries around the world in the following ways:

3.1.1. Use the Program for its direct functional purpose, in order to copy it and install (reproduce) it on the User's mobile device(s). The User has the right to install the Program on an unlimited number of mobile devices. When installed on a mobile device, each copy of the Program is assigned an individual number, which is automatically reported to the Rightholder.

3.1.2. Reproduce and distribute the Program for non-commercial purposes (free of charge).

4. Limitations

4.1. Except as used in the scope and the ways expressly stipulated by this License or laws of Switzerland, the User may not modify, decompile, disassemble, decrypt and perform any other actions with the object code of the Program meant to obtain information on the implementation of algorithms used in the Program, create derivative works using the Program and otherwise use (allow to use) the Program, any components of the Program, other images and other data, without the Rightholder’s written consent.

4.2. The User has no right to reproduce and distribute the Program for commercial purposes (including for a fee), including as part of collections of software products, without the written consent of the Rightholder.

4.3. The User has no right to distribute the Program in a form different from the one in which he received it, without the written consent of the Rightholder.

4.4. The Program must be used (including distributed) under the name: "Yandex.Keyboard". The User has no right to change and/or delete the name of the Program, the copyright notice or other indications of the Rightholder.

5. Terms of Use of Certain Functions of the Program

5.1. Some functions of the Program are only possible if you have access to the Internet. The User independently receives and pays for such access on the terms and at the rates of his telecom operator or Internet provider.

5.2. Cartographic documents, photographic works and other images, video recordings, as well as other items covered by copyright, access to which is provided by the Program (hereinafter referred to as the Data), belong to the Rightholder and/or other holders of exclusive rights and are intended solely for personal non-commercial use by the User within the functional features of the Program.

5.3. Any extraction, copying, reproduction, processing, distribution of the Data, their posting in the public domain (publication) on the Internet, any use of the Data in the media and/or for commercial purposes and any other use not expressly permitted by this License is prohibited without prior written permission of the Rightholder and/or another owner of exclusive rights.

5.4. The Program provides to the User the following functional features without limitation:

  • To use the Program as a keyboard replacing the standard keyboard of the operating system of the User's mobile device.
  • To search for images on the Internet and send images to the interlocutors of the User.
  • To search for organizations on the map and get acquainted with information about organizations from the directory of organizations of the Rightholder.
  • To use voice activation to carry out search queries by voice dialing, to receive brief information (quick response) for specific queries. Replies received using voice activation are generated automatically by indexing publicly available information. In this regard, the Rightholder is not responsible for the accuracy, relevance, correctness of information received by the User through this function.
  • To translate the text entered by the User using the Program.

5.5. To access some of the Program's functions, you must register with Yandex services in accordance with the terms of the User Agreement for Yandex Services (https://yandex.ru/legal/rules).

6. Liability under the License

6.1. The Program is provided "as is". The Rightholder does not provide any guarantees regarding the error-free and uninterrupted operation of the Program or its individual components and/or functions, the compliance of the Program with specific goals and expectations of the User, and also does not provide any other guarantees not specified expressly in this License.

6.2. The Rightholder is not responsible for any direct or indirect consequences of any use or inability to use the Program and/or damage caused to the User and/or third parties as a result of any use, non-use or inability to use the Program or its individual components and/or functions, including due to possible errors or failures in the operation of the Program, except as expressly provided for by law.

6.3. The User is hereby notified and agrees that when using the Program, in order to improve the quality of the Program's work, for analytical and statistical purposes, the Rightholder automatically receives the following information: the type of operating system of the User's mobile device, the version and identifier of the Program, statistics on the use of the Program's functions, impersonal voice recordings in the case of voice activation, geolocation data of the User's device, as well as other technical information.

Actions performed by the User when using the Program are logged on the part of the Rightholder. The information received can be used for the purposes specified in this clause and Privacy Policy (https://yandex.ru/legal/confidential), including the purposes of personalized services and advertising offers.

All data on the use of the Program transmitted in accordance with this License is stored and processed in accordance with Privacy Policy (https://yandex.ru/legal/confidential).

6.4. All questions and claims related to the use/inability to use the Program, as well as a possible violation by the Program of legislation and/or the rights of third parties, should be sent via the feedback form to: keyboard@support.yandex.ru.

7. Updates/New Versions of the Program

7.1. This License shall apply to all subsequent updates/new versions of the Program. By agreeing to install an update/new version of the Program, the User accepts the terms of this License for the corresponding updates/new versions of the Program, unless there is a separate license agreement for the update / new version of the Program.

8. Changes in the Terms of this License

8.1. This license agreement can be changed by the Rightholder unilaterally. The User's notification of the changes made to the terms of this License is published at: https://yandex.com/legal/keyboard_mobile_agreement. These changes in the terms of the license agreement shall come into force from the date of their publication unless otherwise specified in the relevant publication.
