After an eventful debate in parliament about Finland's response to racism, the All Points North podcast asks whether the government — and all its parties — are serious about tackling the issue.

"It's been sort of a taboo to say that there is racism in Finland or that there are politicians that thrive because they used racist language," said Yle reporter Tulikukka de Fresnes.

We also ask what has made Finland's complicated playoff system so effective in making the football season more exciting.

"Where in the past maybe if you just play everyone 2-3 times you get some games where they're a bit dead, a bit pointless by September," said Mark Wiltshear of the Finnish Football Show podcast.

"Now every game still matters."

In honour of World Literacy Day we check out Finnish book recommendations and ask about the relative boom in Finnish works translated into English.

"Of course, if you go to the US or UK market, I hardly think you would notice the boom of Finnish literature, but we are really happy with the development because every genre is actually doing quite well," said Tiia Standén from the Finnish Literature Exchange.
